Hanchen Xu

I am currently a Ph.D. student under the supervision of Professor George Gross in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. I received my B.E. and M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from Tsinghua University, Beijing, China in 2012 and 2014, respectively. My research interests include power and energy systems, electricity markets and power system economics. More specifically, my research focuses on power system flexibility under deep penetration of variable energy resources.
